Spalding Flower Parade

Road Closures 2013

The initial Road Closures will come into effect at around 13:00 and this will be from the start of the route to the Pinchbeck Road/Kings Road Junction. If there is a large build up of crowds in Camel Gate then we will close this earlier. Until the road closures come into effect vehicles attending the event will be sent into the Main Car Parks at Springfield’s and on Roman Bank.
Road closures will be taken off in stages as shown below to allow the roads to re-open once the parade has gone through.
  • Camelgate, Holbeach Road – To re-open once all of the parade is on Queen’s Road except the section of road from Roman Bank to the Garden Centre Car Park.
  • Queens Road – To re-open once all of the parade is on Halmer Gate
  • Halmer Gate, Church Street, Love Lane & Church Gate – To re-open once all of the parade is on the Marketplace
  • Pinchbeck Road – To re-opem once all of the parade is ontoWest Elloe Avenue
  • West Elloe Avenue – To re-open once all of the parade is onto Roman Bank
  • Roman Bank – To re-open once the parade is on Camelgate
  • Camelgate – To re-open once all of the parade is in Springfield’s and the crowds have dispersed making it safe to do so.

Traffic Diversions

To keep the traffic moving around the town, the following diversions are to be set up:

  • Albert Street / Low Road Roundabout – Vehicles will be able to travel across this Roundabout but will be unable to travel along Queens Road or Halmer Gate. This route will remain open until the parade is travelling along Queen’s Road.
  • Pinchbeck Road / West Elloe Road – Vehicles will be diverted along West Elloe Road
